Yogurt Packaging Design

The people in Tibet treasure yak's for their value. Among many things, they provide yak milk, whick isn't farmed anywhere else.

To turn this into a unique product, the label design needed to emblemize tibetan imagery and stand out visually just as much as the concept does.

Concept & Drafting

Designing a label for a small cup of yogurt made from Tibetan yak's milk.

A product that isn't commercially sold anywhere else, so I knew the design needed to sell that fact without looking too absurd.

The target audience that I kept in mind were adults from 35-55 with excess income who like to purchase high-end goods and try new things.

I started by going to an upper-end grocery store, and taking pictures of the yogurts there.

1st Iteration

Gurt is to be sold in single serve yogurt cups, usually around 5 oz. You can really underestimate how small that is.

I wanted to make it unique from standard yogurt package design to emphasize that this is an exclusive product.

I liked the idea of a die cut shape. I figured it should be a single label that wraps all the way around the container.

Revision - 2nd Iteration

It was currently style over substance, so I revisited my design with a fresh mindset.

I decided to reuse my assets and rearrange them in a simpler way, but with the same visual language.

I recieved feedback and noted that Tibetan textiles are very colorful and eyecatching, and I should revisit the color palette.

I also needed to pull back, the label still had to do its job of being a label.

Finals

I separated the front and back content, and I made the assets more minimal.

The label presents formality and cleanliness, but it is still friendly.

Double Page Spread Advertisement

Gurt's visual identity isn't neccessarily loud, but the concept as a whole is.

For this advertisement spread, I wanted to emphasize Tibetan-inspired imagery to invite intrigue.

In the end, I realized that I could make the simple logo into this grandiose focal point. All of the illustrative detail surrounding it will make the reader want to find out more.
